We believe CrossFit 13 Stars is more than just a gym and a workout. 13 Stars is rooted in fitness, however we strongly believe that results are driven by a community of individuals that thrive on enthusiasm, support, determination and relentless effort. We believe absolutely everyone can be (Cross)fit and we understand that means different things to each of you. We believe our gym is a place where obstacles are overcome and where “I can’t” becomes “I just did.” 13 Stars is where our accomplishments are written proudly on the wall and where the last one finishing gets all the applause.
To create a foundation of health based on three guiding principles:
1. Disease/ injury prevention: through safe and effective healthy lifestyle practices we can create an opportunity to prevent future diseases such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Through those same practices we can provide you with the cardiovascular/ respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy with movement to be able to do your day to day activities with ease and lower the risk of injury.
2. Longevity in life: Having elevated disease risk markers such as being overweight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar can put more strain on the body than normal creating more damage to the body internally and externally. Healthy lifestyle practices can improve a variety of these disease risk markers to allow your body to function at a more sustainable level.
3. Functional independence: As we age we naturally slow down and can become less mobile and less able to function in our day to day practices. Without physical activity we can lose our ability to function at a higher level physically and mentally which in turn decreases the quality of our life. Participating in regular healthy practices helps keep us functional and independent.
