The CrossFit Games Open has started, which means CrossFit will release a new workout every week for five (5) weeks to determine who will be going to regionals (aka the next round of competition). To get a taste of the competition, the Open workouts will be our gym’s programing on Fridays until they are completed. This does not mean you have to be signed up for the Open either, just means we want everyone to give a CrossFit HQ programmed workout a shot and see how we all do.

Julie posted this on the page the other day, and I’ve heard a couple people talking about it on the good book, so figured I would post it here as well so everyone could have a read. The article is called “Paying Attention To How To Talk To Yourself” and it focuses on encouraging yourself, after a workout, to speak about what you’ve just done in the positive, as opposed to what you were not able to do or comparing yourself to what others around you did. Remember, CrossFit is an individual sport that just happens to be done with a lot of other people around. Being in a class setting there is naturally going to be some competition, but the person next to you succeeding or failing at something should never affect how you feel about the effort you just put forth.
