Since walking in our door, Emily Segreto (who Coach Jenna deemed “the 6:15’s silent assassin”) has been as consistent of a member as we could have asked for. And that is commendable for someone who is cold enough to show up in a hoodie on 70 degree mornings. Emily’s determination (she travels every morning to get to class!), willingness to learn and try new things have proven what is possible by simply walking in the door every day. Emily has also taken advantage of the improvements in her health and fitness with her activities outside of the gym by dropping into CrossFits with her sister, running 5ks and even suffering through a half marathon!
“It has been an absolute privilege to watch Emily’s skills develop and her weights grow.” – Coach Jenna
All of that coupled with the “Dad Club” of the 6:15am she puts up with every morning make this a well deserved recognition.

- What are you most proud of during your time at CF13S? I’m most proud that I’ve actually gotten stronger. When I first started I could barely get the movement of lifts like the clean or snatch…even the push jerk was complicated to me. But now I can execute them at weight that I never thought I’d be able to.
- What is your favorite barbell lift? Clean
- What is your favorite wine? Pinot grigio
- Any advice to males over 40 still rocking white jeans? Most people are aware that I am strongly against such fashion choices.
- What is the biggest change you have seen in yourself since joining? My lifestyle is a lot healthier than it was prior to joining CF13S… I work out regularly, eat better, make sure I get enough sleep and in general make better choices.
- If you had to be stuck on a desert island with one person from the 6:15am who would it be and why? Although she doesn’t go to the 6:15 anymore, it’d have to be Sara B since we’re closet in age.
- What is your favorite pre-cut vegetable? Shredded Brussels, although I never did get them for free from my job.
- What is a goal you have set for yourself that you are still working on? Strict pull ups! Or rather, one strict pull up.
- When a Coach lets you pick the music for class, do you ever think, “Should I really pick this?” I’ve learned my lesson about picking the music.
- Any advice for people just getting started? My advice would be to not get discouraged about not being able to perfect a certain skill or lift. You might never perfect something but by putting in the time and being consistent you’ll certainly get better.
