Kicking off our Member Spotlight section is David Todd (aka Clark Kent). A member since the beginning, David has shown that consistency does pay off. David has improved not only in the amount of weight he is able to move, but also with a number of gymnastic movements that he struggled with early on. Handstand push-ups were not his friend for awhile there. Not to mention few are able to clear two flights of stairs and get changed out of a suit and into gym attire faster. Thank you for all the hard work and willingness to give anything a shot! Looking for more great appearances with Team Powerful!

Favorite movement: Any of the power lifts.
Least favorite movement: Overhead squats.

What is something most of our the members do not know about you? I love magic (seriously).
When I walk into the gym, the first person I check on the whiteboard is: Good question. There are a lot of fit folks at the gym to keep it interesting. Generally, I just try to get a sense of the range to mentally prepare myself. I don’t know how the first 5:15am class does it!
What does your Mom/Wife think CrossFit is? Another excuse to avoid diaper duty.
Any advice for people just getting started? Just stick with it; it takes a month or so to get the basic movements down. The coaches are great about perfecting form and the small class sizes lend themselves to lots of individual attention, so you’ll get there soon.

Whether it is taking on power centers or power lifts, David is never one to back down from a challenge. Keep it up!
