Julie and I first met Lisa in the summer of 2012 when we decided to go to West Virginia with Assumption Parish for their annual Habitat For Humanity trip. Four trips later, and after much encouragement from PJ, we finally convinced her to come in and try a free class. It has been full speed ahead since then! Lisa is a consistent Monday-Wednesday-Friday’er (unless she’s trying to avoid strength day) and has said she wished she had started earlier … for all you folks still on the fence out there! It is always hard to tell people who great they will feel, how fast they can progress, and how much of a change they will see in themselves … but when they come in and realize you weren’t feeding them a line it is always a great feeling!
Lisa is enjoying the progress she has already made in the six months she has been a part of our community, would rather lose a limb than lose in a workout to her husband, Joe (who has also joined), and is encouraged when people who have not seen her in awhile let her know how much stronger she looks!

- What is an everyday activity you feel has gotten easier since starting CrossFit? Carrying 2 toddlers up and down stairs with ease.

- What is a movement/exercise that you are able to now do that you never thought you’d be able to do? Lifting weights over my head. Never thought I would be able to do that!

- What is a goal you have set for yourself that you are still working on? Handstands and double unders
- Any advice for people just getting started? Go to strength days. Also don’t get discouraged bc you think you “can’t” do something. There is always a modification.
