One of the purposes of yesterday’s workout (the double unders and MB cleans) was to encourage folks to stay focused under pressure. Our goal as coaches is always to keep our members safe, and forcing folks to stay focused while jumping rope, or suffer a penalty, is one way for athletes to get themselves organized. No matter what you’re doing in the gym, if you are sacrificing your form for your time you are doing yourself a dis-service, so next time you are out of breath and are about to begin again, take a step back, take a BIG deep breath, run through that checklist in your mind of what you need to do, and then begin.
