One of the most common things I hear as a CrossFit owner from females is the “I don’t want to get bulky like a lot of the CrossFit women I see” comment. If you are reading this and are thinking the same thing, or ever find yourself in a similar situation with someone else who says this to you, remind them that the women they see on ESPN are professionals. That is like watching the NBA and comparing your basketball game to theirs. I found a blog post that breaks down a number of points on this topic, but point #4 is the point you should remember the most, “It takes years to put on a significant amount of muscle” and even with those years you have to be consistently lifting an ever-increasing amount of weight to put it on at all. Keep that in mind.
