This article on “Intensity vs. Volume” reminded me of a post I read by Ben Bergeron (widely regarded as one of the best CrossFit coaches on the planet) who said, “Do not increase the volume, just go faster.” If when you started CrossFit you were able to do 25 push-ups at a slow pace, but have moved on to doing 50 push-ups at a slow pace, I would much rather see you go back and pick up the intensity on those original 25.
