Having a conversation with a member this week about protein (where they told me they hadn’t used their protein in awhile and wanted to know if it had expired, at which point I asked why she hadn’t been using it after every workout) led me to look for a good article about protein consumption and how much we should be using. Eric Cressey, who is a strength and conditioning coach, is a guy who’s opinion I value and he just happen to put together an article about what I was looking for. He breaks it down for all types of people, types of protein, bulking, weight loss … the whole 9.

Your time in the gym is actually breaking down your muscle, and the protein you supply your body with after the workout is what is going to repair and build that muscle back up. So, it is very important to provide your body with a [clean] source of protein after your workout to ensure you’re giving it the medicine that it needs!
